Addicted to meat?

I have a really awful problem I am addicted to meat! Nothing specific, just any kind of meat. Is this normal? Will I die?

Meaty, London

Hello there! Nothing wrong with eating meat in my opinion. Just make sure you eat other things like vegetables and potatoes with it too. Also make sure you don’t eat it dry all the time. Your poor tummy won’t be able to hack it and you will gets loads of tummy aches and indigestion. If you do wish to give up meat, then try going once a week without it and when you are used to that, try twice a week and gradually give up. It is perfectly normal to eat meat. By the sounds of it, you could eat a cow in a day! Good Luck.

Baby Love

I am 17 and have passed all my GCSE’s with really excellent grades. I am currently awaiting my AS levels and I think I did ok. Well this is not my problem. I really want a baby. I have thought about this and talked to my parents and they are telling me not to throw my life away. I know that I could take care of a kid and go to college, but my parents don’t think I can do it. They just keep waffling on about how they had a baby at my age and threw it all away. What do you think?

Scott, South London

It sounds to me like you are going to do the same thing your parents did. I know it is something you don’t want to hear but I feel you should listen to your parents and take into account what they are saying.
A baby is very demanding and will need constant attention from its parents. It gets very tiresome. I am not saying that you cannot do this. I am sure when the time is right and you meet someone who you want to spend the rest of your life with, a baby will be something you both want rather than diving into it. I would really think long and hard before you do anything and take action.

Good Luck to you.

A bra or two?

I hate this. I am currently growing boobs and I hate them. I am the only one in my year who is wearing these things and I hate them. They irritate me and are really uncomfortable. I think I am wearing the wrong size. How do I know what size I am?

Boobies I hate, London

Oh this is a great time for you! Your body is developing so you are becoming a woman! You really should not hate your breasts; they will get you lots of attention now and in the future! Also you will go through mood swings because of your periods (when you start those that is) but you can blame it on your hormones.

As for bras. When buying you should go to a shop that sells them, say M & S or La Senza, which will measure you up and get you the right sizes you need. You will feel much more comfortable once you get the right size.

There is really no need to be so upset, every girl goes through it. It is all part of developing. Just remember, boobs get you lots of attention from the lads so look after them and look good!

Geeks Ahoy?

I went to the optician to get my eyes checked the other day and he said I needed glasses. I don’t want to look like an idiot with glasses. Everyone will pick on me and it is so uncool to wear them. My mum says I have to get them whether I like it or not. I really don’t want to get picked on, she doesn’t know my school! How can I convince her?

Four Eyed, Essex

Firstly being told you need glasses is no way uncool. There are so many styles out there that suit everyone and look really good. I, for one, look great in glasses. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to watch TV or drive or walk in a straight line without them. Be thankful.

Secondly, if you really are anti glasses then why not try contact lenses? It involves sticking your finger in your eye to put them in. I am sure your mum will let you have contacts. Talk to your optician for more information.
